Contemporary Ritual Theatre creates innovative and challenging theatre projects in Great Yarmouth. It was founded by Beau Hopkins in 2022.

The company is committed to developing a new form of theatre known as 'ritual theatre'.

Emphasising the close physical connection of performers and audience, 'ritual theatre' integrates song, movement, dance, masking and improvisation alongside story and character.

Visceral and austere, using only a circle on the ground for a stage, 'ritual theatre' aims to create powerful emotional experiences, uniting and transforming audiences and performers within a single, unforgettable ritual.

Contemporary Ritual Theatre is the company in residence at The Drill House in Great Yarmouth, headquarters of Out There Arts, a National Centre for Outdoor Arts and Circus.
